"Oh, the Places You Can Go!"
Why the Written Word? Do you remember your favorite book from your childhood? A Dr. Seuss book perhaps? Shel Silverstein's Poetry, or maybe a Classic like Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe? Whatever it was, it remains with you today because of its captivating literature style they had you reading every page, every word with anticipation and admiration. Just like in Dr. Seuss's "Oh, The Places You'll Go!" one can travel from one end of the world to another, cross deserts and voyage seas in just a moment's time or explore new adventures with a favorite topic; all while sitting quietly in front of a warm fire or lying on the beach. Reading a book can take you places you couldn't go in a day or may never reach in your lifetime. Reading permits an escape, an exploration, perhaps a revere. Who knows where you will go? Imagine what you will see, or what you will do! Anything can happen that's the power of the written word; only if you read and believe. R.J. Lent |
